DKIM, which is short for DomainKeys Identified Mail, is a validation system, which hinders email addresses from being spoofed and email content from being tampered with. This is done by adding a digital signature to each email sent from an address under a certain domain name. The signature is generated based on a private encryption key that is available on the outbound email server and it can be verified by using a public key, which is available in the global Domain Name System. Thus, any email with modified content or a spoofed sender can be spotted by mail service providers. This method will enhance your web safety tremendously and you will know for sure that any message sent from a business collaborator, a bank, etc., is a genuine one. When you send out email messages, the receiver will also know for sure that you are indeed the one who has sent them. Any email message that appears to be counterfeit may either be labeled as such or may never show up in the receiver’s mailbox, based on how the given provider has decided to cope with such messages.
